Dr. Ida S. Scudder inspired a generation, empowered the women of that generation, and transformed the medical world of India. She was a witness to the healing ministry of Christ through excellence in education, service, and research—a vision that must be transmitted to the next generation.

Many witnesses have carried her legacy by affirming their commitment to the CMC motto of “Not to be ministered unto, but to minister.” But the tangible inspiration of Dr. Scudder is no more. The generation of witnesses is thinning. Through this film, we hope to keep alive the foundational history of Christ’s love  expressed through the lives of Ida Scudder and her colleagues.

The need to improve and transform women’s health, and by extension the whole family, in Christ’s name, was the call on Dr. Ida’s life. We hope to extend the call, extend the witness, and extend the commitment. We hope to inspire, empower and transform through declaring the love of God in Christ.
